The Race Weekend


Schedule Friday: Free Practice One > Practice One Saturday: Free Practice Two > Qualifying > Sprint Race Sunday: Warmup > Grand Prix


Qualifying Format A rider’s fastest time from Friday’s Practice 1 (P1). The fastest 10 riders from P1 automatically gain a place in Qualifying 2 (Q2). The first qualifying session (Q1) consists of the bottom 12 riders from P1 and P2. The fastest two riders in Q1 will progress to Q2, and the remaining set the race grid from 13th to 22nd place. Q2 lets riders fight for the coveted pole position spot, and sets the top 12 grid positions for both the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix.


Races Each Grand Prix is run over a distance of between 95 and 130 kilometres, with the aim of a race duration around 45 minutes. The new-for-2023 Sprint Race format is half the distance of the Grand Prix, and takes place on the Saturday.


Championship Points Format

Grand Prix Points are scored by the top 15 finishers 25-20-16-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Sprint Race Points are scored by the top 9 finishers 12-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

There are no points for pole position or fastest lap.
